About Chef Karen

Chef Karen’s passion for cooking began at age 9 in her mother’s kitchen. Throughout school, she attended cooking classes and cooked for friends and family, earning a stellar reputation as an adventurous and successful home cook.

After college, Chef Karen entered the marketing field, where her skills were put to work planning corporate meetings, events and parties. She worked closely with catering managers and chefs across the country to develop innovative menus to please a variety of palates.

She then turned her passion for cooking into a career. Today, CHOP is a successful business with a loyal following of clients who love Chef Karen’s delicious meals and the convenience of having a professional chef handle all the shopping and cooking for their households.

Chef Karen is the president of Chicagoland Personal Chefs (www.chicagopersonalchefs.com), a proud member of the American Personal & Private Chef Association (www.personalchef.com), and was co-creator and charter subscriber to the Personal Chef Code of Ethics (www.personalchefethics.com.

Chef Karen holds the following certifications:

  • Chicago Department of Public Health Certified Foodservice Manager
  • Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Manager
  • National Restaurant Association ServSafe® Food Protection Manager
